The heavy fabric tarpaulins used are extremely robust at 650 g/m² and have proven themselves in constant use for decades. Depending on the weather and stress, it can be expected to last for many years. If a tarpaulin is damaged in the rough and tumble of everyday work, it can be easily repaired on site or simply replaced.
PVC tarpaulin is the first choice due to its more favourable prices and faster installation. However, if there are fire protection requirements, e.g. because the canopy is to be installed close to an existing building, trapezoidal sheet metal is an equally good, even though slightly more expensive, alternative.
