Green Building certified logistics building for Siemens
Resource efficiency and sustainability were particularly important to Siemens when planning the expansion of a site in Hesse. The new steel building to be built for this was to meet the Green Building Standard, which HALTEC solved with flying colours.
A green building is a building that has been developed under the guiding principle of sustainability. Among other things, a green building is characterised by a high level of resource efficiency, while at the same time reducing harmful effects on health and the environment. A green building also aims to reduce the amount of waste.
Siemens' new warehouse and logistics building is equipped with highly thermally insulated sandwich panels. For fire protection reasons, the entire roof cladding consists of panels with a mineral wool core. As the focus was particularly on saving energy, all fixtures such as the row of windows in ridge, doors and windows also have a particularly high level of thermal insulation. Access is via locks with high-speed gates to minimise energy loss when entering and leaving the warehouse. The natural lighting provided by various strip lights and windows ensures additional energy savings.
