Storage tent with ballast for DB Netz AG
Protection class 2 | uninsulated. DB Netz AG was looking for a storage tent. A special feature: the substrate was not to be impaired, as is the case with ground pegs anchoring, for example. HALTEC had the perfect solution at hand - an anchorage-free storage tent with ballast.
The company needed a hall for warehousing wooden sleepers within a very short space of time. This type of sleeper is an important niche product for Deutsche Bahn and is mainly used for infrastructure maintenance. A weather-protected warehouse had to be created for the treated wooden components. HALTEC was quickly on the spot and realised the desired protection from wind and weather with a simple BASIC tent hall. Only one assembly day was needed to erect the tent on the company premises. DB Netz AG was able to store the first wooden sleepers in the new storage tent the very next day.
BASIC tent with ballast: ideal fastening method for ground-protecting hall construction
The most important aspect in addition to the rapid availability was the floor-friendly hall fastening. Even before the hall was purchased, the client stipulated that the new marquee hall had to be assembled without anchoring. HALTEC then supplied a hall with optimal and economical conditions - a ballasted storage tent. Instead of laboriously constructing foundations in the ground, "the foundation" is virtually on the ground. With HALTEC base ballasting, the concrete elements are laid on the ground and the hall is attached to them with heavy-duty dowels.
Storage tent with ballast - these advantages convinced the customer:
- Quick assembly thanks to ballast and lightweight aluminium construction
- Ground-protecting fastening variant with ballast elements
- Greater usable height thanks to assembly on concrete weights
With the new HALTEC tent hall in modular design, we have found a quick and economical solution for our warehouse expansion. Our ready-to-install wooden sleepers can be stored in this temporary storage facility, protected from the weather.

Additional space gain
One advantage of base ballasting is that it can be mounted on the concrete weights, resulting in a greater effective height.
Bright and friendly
Translucent roof tarpaulins ensure daylight-like conditions in the hall without artificial lighting.
Gentle on the floor
Installation on concrete weights enables anchoring that is gentle on the ground - the existing substrate is not damaged.
Safely attached
The base plates of the tent hall construction are attached to the concrete weights with heavy-duty dowels.
Well advised. HALTEC.
