Production building for wind turbine rotors
A Danish manufacturer of wind turbines needed more space for the production of its rotors. The special challenge: the hall had to be very large and also be able to support indoor cranes. The perfect solution: a three-bayed SELECT steel building from HALTEC!
In order to achieve the required size, the hall was divided into three aisles, each 20.0 metres wide. The outer two aisles have a side height of 10.0 m, while the centre aisle is no less than 12.0 m wide. Each of these bays carries two 10 tonne overhead cranes. Not uncomplicated, but a welcome challenge for the HALTEC engineers.
In order to ensure optimum operational processes at all times, the hall was supplemented with useful equipment options:
- Hall radiators ensure perfect illumination of the production building.
- The row of windows in ridge allows plenty of daylight into the hall and guarantees smoke and heat extraction in the event of a fire thanks to the integrated NSHEVS system.
- Large industrial sectional gates provide convenient access to the hall. The integrated windows provide additional lighting for the interior.
- A total of twelve single-leaf steel multi-purpose doors with anti-panic locks ensure the safety of pedestrians.

Enormous space gain
The three-bayed HALTEC SELECT building provides the Danish customer with 3,900 m² of new production space.
Statically calculated
The load of the six 10-tonne overhead cranes was taken into account from the outset in the hall statics.
Protected steel construction
The primary construction of the hall was provided with an additional fire-protection coating.
Sufficient light at all times
The row of windows in ridge allows natural light into the hall interior. In addition, hall radiators illuminate the production building perfectly.
Well advised. HALTEC.
