Hall with crane track: a perfect combination of workshop and warehouse
For satisfied employees and work processes optimally matching, you need a suitable work environment with functional tools. Those who invest clever, can also achieve a lot! A customer from the logistics industry has had a individually planned SELECT steel hall built by HALTEC at its new company location in Lower Saxony. The hall with crane track efficiently unites workshop and warehouse, thereby contributing to the optimization of work processes.
HALTEC SELECT crane hall for efficient workshop operation
During the construction of the new hall, the logistics vehicle dealer decided in favor of HALTEC, the experts for space saving. An individually designed hall construction should be the new hall construction, which perfectly combines workshop and warehouse under one roof. For HALTEC, only a SELECT steel hall came into consideration, which can optimally implement all the wishes of the customer:
- 1,500 m² steel hall in individual design for permanent use
- Thermal insulation with 100 mm sandwich panels for low heating costs
- 38 m row of windows in ridge for plenty of light in the hall with hatches for air extraction - additionally equipped with smoke and heat exhaust system for compliance with fire
- 10 t hall crane for easy moving of heavy loads
- insulated gable partition with sectional gate to separate the workshop from the warehouse and save energy costs
- Protected hall exterior areas by a large canopy and an additional pent roof
New crane hall creates optimal interaction between workshop and warehouse
Especially important for the construction of the new HALTEC SELECT steel hall was the installation of a crane track for the workshop. Forklift trucks in need of repair as well as other vehicles are serviced and repaired here. The elaborate work on the weighty vehicles is heavy work - here a double-stranded crane track should provide support. The project was accomplished with a 25 m long crane track in the workshop hall area. Lifting heavy loads is now no longer a challenge, but now works just by pressing a button on the hall crane.
Housed in the new steel hall is as well a warehouse, in which are stored mainly new vehicles for sale. They remain here only until they are picked up or delivered. The storage section in the area of the workshop is delimited by a gable partition. The movement of persons and goods between the areas takes place exclusively via a large sectional gate plus a small adjoining door. If a defective forklift truck is now completely repaired and ready for pickup, it can be stored in the warehouse to save space next door from the workshop.

Curved row of windows in ridge | The 38-meter long curved row of windows on the roof of the hall provides daylight in the hall and integrated hatches allow the withdrawal of used air.
