Frequently asked questions

Here we have listed several questions for you which our customers often ask. By clicking on a question, you will receive the answer.

What is an industrial tent?

In the case of an industrial tent, an aluminium framework is covered with a tarpaulin made of translucent, PVC-coated fabric. An advantage of these lightweight halls is that they can be set up without a foundation. In connection with the easy-to-assemble design and the prefabricated system parts, this guarantees extremely quick assembly. Relatively small halls can be set up without a fork-lift truck - and even with the large variants, a crane is very rarely needed. Another advantage: the assembly is so easy that Aluflex can be assembled by untrained workers supervised by a constructor. A powerful argument, especially if the industrial tent needs to be transferred at a later date.

What different uses are possible?

An Aluflex industrial tent is primarily used as a storage tent, but also as a covering for a building site, cover for weather-sensitive goods, protection for devices and vehicles or as a temporary assembly tent. With a wall covering made of galvanized and paint-coated trapezoidal sheets, the hall is often used as an exhibition and sales hall, or as an extension for sales areas for special campaigns or building conversions.

What is the frame construction made of?

The tent frame consists of aluminium profiles (uprights and trusses) and/or of hot-dip galvanized steel parts (foot plate, eave piece, ridge piece, purlins, portals). So even in the long term, corrosion does not stand a chance.

What materials are used for the roof and walls?

The roof always consists of extremely high-quality, durable, plastic-coated tarpaulin. The tarpaulin is flame-retardant in accordance with DIN 4102 B1. The wall covering is either made of the same material or - if required - of galvanized and paint-coated trapezoidal sheets.

Do I need a building permit?

In most cases, Aluflex can be set up without any major formalities. In a specific case, the responsible building authorities will give you detailed information about whether a building application is necessary. We are glad to provide a static certified by the TÜV (German Technical Inspection Agency) or a construction record for all the standard-size industrial halls.

How can I protect my stored goods from condensation?

Interior tarpaulins can be inserted in order to avoid condensation. In this way, the formation of condensation is reduced. Any condensation which may possibly form is collected and drained away down the sides to the ground.

What types of doors and gates are available?

Depending on the wall covering type, we use sliding doors in either tarpaulin or trapezoidal-sheet models as standard. However, we can also provide rolling gates, sectional gates, simple access doors or double-leaf doors.

Does HALTEC also include interior lighting with the delivery?

We are always glad to provide interior lighting for storage purposes, which is cost-effective both in terms of acquisition or rental. The lighting is installed by our fitters and is wired up to the interchange point at the sub-distribution.

Can heating be integrated?

Yes. We provide mobile or stationary hot-air heating systems for your Aluflex industrial tent, which guarantee a pleasant temperature.

To top

Is a mobile version of Aluflex available?

Yes. The wide variety of possible uses of the industrial hall can be seen from the fact that it can be stored on rollers and shifted as a complete unit. When disassembled, the stationary version can easily be converted into a mobile hall.

How durable is a tarpaulin covering?

The tarpaulins are extremely durable and have proven their value in constant use over several decades. However, if damage should occur due to an accident, for instance due to the fork of a fork-lift truck, the tarpaulin can easily be repaired on site.

In which colours is the covering available?

The tarpaulins in the wall area are normally coated on the outside in brown or white and, on the inside, in white to provide better lighting for the hall. In the roof area, the tarpaulins are always white on both sides; this is necessary to allow the optimal penetration of daylight. The trapezoidal sheets in the standard version are coated in RAL 9002, grey white. If you are buying an Aluflex industrial tent or renting for a long period, the tarpaulins and trapezoidal sheets can be delivered in virtually any colour.

Is Aluflex resistant to snow and storms?

Depending on their size, Aluflex industrial tents possess a snow load of 25 to 100 kg/m² and can withstand the wind loads required according to DIN 4112 up to wind-force 9. In some cases, depending on the version, even the requirements according to DIN 1055 up to wind-force 12 are fulfilled. These figures apply, regardless of whether your Aluflex industrial tent has a tarpaulin or sheetmetal covering.

Which type of subsoil is required?

Aluflex can be assembled on existing paved surfaces, asphalt surfaces or on compressed gravel. The industrial tent is anchored in the subsoil with one-metre-long earth pins. If the subsoil is uneven, we shall be happy to inform you whether the Aluflex variant you require can be assembled without any further preliminary work. If you already have a concrete surface available, the hall can be set up directly on it using dowels.

Is Aluflex also available with heat insulation?

In order to keep your Aluflex industrial tent clear of frost for a few months at low cost, we shall be glad to insert an interior tarpaulin from ground to ground. This double tarpaulin provides a certain amount of insulation. In the case of longer exposure times, the hall walls can be covered with sandwich panels. However, for high-quality heat insulation, we recommend our "Steelflex System Hall" product range.

Can I also rent the industrial hall?

Yes. All the standard halls can be rented directly from HALTEC. Please ask us for your own individual solution. At the end of the rental period, you can decide whether to continue renting the hall, disassemble it or take over ownership.
